The oiler this lamp dates to the 1970’s and was used as an automatic oiling system for a large industrial machine. Blue was chosen based on the original color, while the flexible pipes pay tribute to the oil system and pipes used to distribute the oil. The wooden base is recycled oak from a vintage truck.

Manufacturing lubrication systems for industrial machinery from 1898from,Illinois, U.S.A. based Madison Kipp supplied their well know oilers to early tractors of Hart Parr from 1920.
The blue base colour was chosen to pay homage to the original colour, while the flexible pipes pay tribute to the oil system and pipes used to distribute the oil - finished with a sealed oak base recycled timber from a vintage truck, the Madison Kipp Oiler light no.160 is truly a delightfully sculptural piece of historic preservation and design.
